About the Role:

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Parking Enforcement Officer to join our Transportation Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of parking services on campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol campus areas to monitor and control parking of vehicles;
  • Issue parking violation notices to vehicles violating parking regulations;
  • Provide written warnings to receipt holders regarding parking violations;
  • Arrange for improperly parked vehicles to be towed;
  • Provide evidence in court regarding parking violations;
  • Assist faculty, staff, students, and visitors with parking-related inquiries;
  • Operate a parking kiosk, selling cash parking and providing information about parking and the University;
  • Communicate with supervisors via radio to report situations and incidents;
  • Assist with cash box management and bank deposits;
  • Notify University police of unusual occurrences on campus;
  • Provide instructions to drivers on parking-related matters;
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance duties as required;
  • Operate a motorized vehicle for parking surveillance or equipment transport;

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a customer service position with public contact in stressful situations;
  • Experience in handling cash, making change, and balancing;
  • Experience in parking control procedures and as a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer;
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills;
  • Ability to qualify as a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer for issuing parking violation notices;
  • Provincial Class "G" driver's license in good standing;
  • Good physical condition to work outdoors in all weather conditions;

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time, term position ending August 2025. The successful candidate will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions and may be required to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
