Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive patient and family care in accordance with Alberta Health Services (AHS) policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Registered Nurses, Health Care Aides, and other healthcare professionals to provide safe and effective patient care.
- Direct and monitor the care provided by Health Care Aides, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of strategies to enhance patient care and safety.
- Perform moderate to heavy work on a regular basis to ensure safe patient care and staff safety.
- Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- Two years of previous thoracic and general surgery experience.
- Experience with IV, PCA, Epidural, Drains, and Wound Care.
- Experience with monitoring of Central Lines.
