We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician with a strong background in the upkeep of mining machinery to become a vital part of our operations. Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of post-apprenticeship experience in the maintenance of mining machinery
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar (CAT) auxiliary machinery, Komatsu haul trucks, Hitachi shovels, and P&H 4100 shovels
  • A Valid Alberta Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate
  • Competence in using computers for equipment maintenance tasks
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections and repairs
  • Diagnose and rectify issues in hydraulic systems, engines, and transmissions
  • Replace significant components such as engines and transmissions
  • Maintain precise maintenance documentation
  • Engage in post-event failure analysis
  • Operate machinery in a safe manner
  • Implement approved modifications for the fleet

Location and Key Details:

  • Position based at a mining site in Alberta
  • Work schedule consists of a seven days on/seven days off rotation
  • This role is classified as safety sensitive
