At Commission Scolaire Central Quebec / Central Quebec School Board, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Technician to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with teaching staff, families, and external resources to provide targeted support for students with special needs.
- Develop and implement innovative support methods and customized learning strategies to promote student success.
- Contribute to the creation, development, and implementation of personalized intervention plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor student progress and foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages open communication and active participation.
- Design and lead diverse activities to reinforce student competencies and provide direct academic support in basic skills, lessons, and homework.
- Employ proactive approaches to supporting students in their adaptation and behavioral management, utilizing optimal and adapted communication techniques.
- Provide information on social issues and refer students and their families to specialized resources as needed.
- Ensure the safety and support of students requiring special attention during school transportation, if necessary.
- Document observations and interventions, maintain up-to-date student files, and prepare detailed reports.
- Administer medication according to medical and school guidelines, and intervene in first aid situations as needed.
- Guide and train new team members and supervise support staff tasks related to technical operations.
- Perform additional tasks as required to meet emerging needs.
