Job Summary

CHEO is a leading pediatric healthcare organization seeking a highly skilled Program Manager to join its Facilities Management team. As a key member of the Planning team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing space optimization requests, ensuring seamless care delivery and advancing the organization's clinical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stakeholder Relationship:
    • Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with stakeholders, campus partners, and external partners, including consultants, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
    • Collaborate with other managers and professional staff to resolve space optimization and utilization issues.
  • Project Optimization Initiation:
    • Assess space optimization request background and objectives within established Master Planning and Redevelopment Plan objectives.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders and technical resources to review request scope statements and to clearly define user requirements.
    • Define request deliverables, milestones, and dependencies, and develop Work Breakdown Structures and schedules.
  • Space Planning:
    • Create and maintain space request tracking dashboard, noting request type and priority.
    • Contribute to unit-level planning, identifying need for modifications and preparing recommendations for solutions.
  • Project Management Efficiency:
    • Develop and maintain schedule reporting documents to inform project stakeholders on status and key decision-making activities.
    • Prepare plans, charts, and diagrams to assess and display tasks and work activities.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop project budgets for space optimization pursuits and maintain project cost controls.
    • Review and manage the purchase of goods and services following procurement policies.
  • General:
    • Track all project-related expenses against the approved budget.
    • Direct the consulting team, including architects, engineers, contractors, and specialty consultants.
    • Participate in Master Planning/Master Programming of various size projects.
    • Provide regular updates to the management team of Facilities Management and Planning.
    • Perform work in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
    Requirements
    • Criminal Record Check (Essential)
    • University Undergraduate Degree (B.A.) or related field (Essential)
    • Project management experience (2-3 years) (Essential)
    • High degree of interpersonal skills and partnership development experience (Essential)
    • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication (Essential)
    • Strengths in public speaking (Preferred)
    • Excellent organizational skills (Essential)
    • Excellent MS Office Skills (Essential)
    • Bilingualism (English/French) (Preferred)
