Job Title: Director, Research and Development

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Research and Development to join our team at the National Research Council Canada. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our research and development efforts, driving innovation, and advancing our scientific knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage research and development teams to achieve strategic objectives
  • Develop and implement research plans, strategies, and budgets
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify research opportunities and priorities
  • Provide scientific leadership and expertise to drive innovation and advancement
  • Manage and oversee research projects, programs, and initiatives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners, academia, and government agencies
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in science or engineering from a recognized university
  • Significant experience in research and development, preferably in a leadership role
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be comfortable with frequent travel and meetings.
