Job Title: Director, Research and Development

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Research and Development to join our team at the National Research Council Canada. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our research and development efforts, driving innovation, and advancing our scientific knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage research and development teams to achieve strategic objectives
  • Develop and implement research plans, strategies, and policies
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify research opportunities and priorities
  • Manage budgets, resources, and personnel to ensure effective and efficient research operations
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to inform research directions
  • Communicate research findings and results to stakeholders, including government, industry, and academia

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in science or engineering from a recognized university
  • Significant experience in research and development, including leadership and management roles
  • Proven track record of innovation, collaboration, and knowledge translation
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
