About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team at PHSA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care services, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans, in a trauma-informed and patient-centered approach.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Conduct health education and promotion activities to empower patients and their families to take an active role in their healthcare.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including documentation of patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans.
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Two (2) years' recent experience providing trauma-informed acute or community health nursing care/services to patients with complex physical, psychiatric, and/or substance abuse/misuse disorders.
  • Successful completion of Occupational First Aid II (OFA II) or OFA III techniques.
  • Working knowledge of community health nursing theory, including mental health and addictions, communicable diseases, primary care, and practice within a patient/family-centered approach.
  • Working knowledge of BCCNP's Standards for Nursing Practice.
  • Knowledge of the BC Mental Health Act and other relevant facilities and community resources.
