Sessional Faculty Position

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a qualified individual to fill a sessional faculty position in the School of Social Work and Human Service. The successful candidate will teach SOCW 3540 – Indigenous People and Human Service via face-to-face delivery at the Kamloops campus.
Key Responsibilities- Teach SOCW 3540 – Indigenous People and Human Service to students at the Kamloops campus
- Develop and deliver culturally appropriate curricula that integrate Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods
- Build student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect
- Support and embrace differences with kindness, love, and respect
- Master's degree in Social Work; PhD or earned doctorate in a relevant discipline with a graduate degree in social work is preferred
- Successful teaching experience in post-secondary institutions preferred
- Minimum of five years of related practice experience with Indigenous peoples and communities required
- Lived experience of Indigenous communities required; experience with communities within Secwépemc'ulucw is preferred
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required
