Job Summary

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a qualified individual to fill a sessional faculty position in the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Law. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching various accounting courses during the 2024 Fall Semester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach financial accounting courses to undergraduate students
  • Develop and deliver course materials, including lectures, assignments, and exams
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
Requirements
  • Doctor's degree in Accounting with experience teaching related courses
  • MBA or Master's degree in Accounting with Canadian CPA designation and significant course work in related courses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of strong teaching potential from student evaluations
  • Significant related work experience
  • Ability to use a variety of instructional technologies
About the Department

The Department of Accounting, Finance, and Law is a supportive and collegial team, with approximately 20 full-time departmental faculty members and numerous part-time instructors from the local business community. The department delivers core courses to all BBA, graduate, and post-baccalaureate diploma students and manages the Accounting and Finance Majors and Minors and the Post-baccalaureate Diplomas in Accounting and Finance.
