Job Opportunity

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a sessional lecturer to teach SOCW 3540 – Indigenous People and Human Service. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Social Work and a minimum of five years of related practice experience with Indigenous peoples and communities.

About the Position

This is a sessional lecturer position that will involve teaching a course on Indigenous People and Human Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering a culturally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of students.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver a culturally appropriate curriculum for SOCW 3540 – Indigenous People and Human Service
  • Teach the course to students in a face-to-face delivery format
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental and faculty meetings
Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work
  • A minimum of five years of related practice experience with Indigenous peoples and communities
  • Lived experience of Indigenous communities
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods
