Position Overview:

Klohn Crippen Berger is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Specialist with over 15 years of extensive experience in the design and analysis of large-scale dam projects and associated structures. A comprehensive understanding of related engineering disciplines, including dam safety evaluations and assessments, is essential. Experience with on-site assignments for hydroelectric projects, both domestically and internationally, is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and draftspeople throughout all phases of design, from initial concepts to final engineering.
  • Serve as a technical expert within project teams, providing guidance and support.
  • Regularly report project progress to clients and senior management.
  • Participate in site visits to gather necessary information to enhance design activities.
  • Engage in effective communication and collaboration with clients.
  • Adhere to established quality management systems and propose improvements as needed.
  • Willingness to travel both nationally and internationally.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in civil or hydrotechnical engineering and eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
  • A minimum of 15 years of diverse experience in civil engineering.
  • Strong technical expertise and detailed design skills in civil engineering.
  • The ability to comprehend and integrate electrical, civil-structural, and mechanical design elements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and with clients.
  • A solid track record in project and client management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including proficient report writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience managing projects with budgets exceeding $1 million.
