Position Overview: As a Strategic Solutions Architect, you will spearhead and facilitate enterprise architecture initiatives that steer the creation and oversight of solutions throughout the organization. These solutions encompass projects, systems (including applications, technologies, processes, and information), shared infrastructure services, and shared application services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transform business and technical requirements into a comprehensive architectural framework to fulfill business objectives, documenting all architectural design and analytical efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners and managers to ensure a resilient architectural foundation that can accommodate future business needs throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Comprehend business drivers and capabilities (both current and future) to ascertain corresponding enterprise solution designs and necessary changes to achieve targeted business outcomes.
  • Assess the existing solution portfolio to identify shortcomings due to aging technologies or misalignment with business needs.
  • Assist product managers in making end-of-life decisions regarding products to maintain, refresh, or retire services or systems.
  • Stay informed about emerging technology trends and their practical applications to support new and evolving business models.
  • Analyze industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics to evaluate their potential impact on specific solutions.
  • Facilitate the selection and evaluation of software product standards and services, as well as the design of both standard and custom software configurations.
  • Consult with application and infrastructure development projects to align systems or infrastructure with architectural standards and identify necessary design modifications.
  • Lead the evaluation, design, and analysis for implementing a solutions architecture across a specific group of business applications or technologies, aligned with enterprise strategy and standards.
  • Develop a roadmap for transitioning the enterprise solution portfolio from its current state to a future state as defined by the solutions architecture.
  • Act as a consultant on a wide range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive desired business outcomes.
  • Create architectural designs that guide and contextualize solution development across products, services, projects, and systems.
  • Work in tandem with the project management office (PMO) to ensure that execution aligns with project commitments.
  • Provide consulting support to application architects to ensure alignment with the overall enterprise architecture.
  • Deliver essential documentation such as standard definitions, reference models, and architectural designs to support governance and assess the impact of technology investments.
  • Design and oversee governance activities to ensure compliance with solutions architecture.
  • Establish principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure alignment with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to navigate organizational dynamics effectively.
  • Skilled in influencing and facilitating decision-making among stakeholders and peers.
  • Capacity to translate future-state business capabilities into architectural requirements.
  • Adept at estimating the financial implications of architectural alternatives.
  • Creative and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Quick comprehension of new technologies and their functionalities.
  • Respected thought leader capable of influencing business and IT leaders.
  • Technology-neutral approach, focusing on results rather than personal preferences.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate architects across the enterprise, promoting the adoption of frameworks and standards.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least ten years of experience in multiple IT solution development disciplines, with a focus on business and application architecture.
  • Exposure to diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
  • Understanding of strategic technology trends and their application to evolving business models.
  • Familiarity with product management and agile methodologies.
  • Experience in developing architecture blueprints and strategies.
  • Ability to present effectively to senior executives and technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of technology architecture aspects such as integration, network, and security.
  • Understanding of system development life cycle methodologies and IT service management principles.
  • Familiarity with architecture frameworks like TOGAF and modeling languages.
