Position Overview:

As an Enterprise Solutions Architect, you will spearhead and facilitate Enterprise Architecture (EA) initiatives that steer the formulation and oversight of solutions throughout the organization. These solutions encompass projects, systems (including applications, technologies, processes, and information), shared infrastructure services, and shared application services. Your role will involve a deep understanding of business goals, objectives, outcomes, capabilities, value streams, and processes, all of which are critical to effective solution architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transform business and technical requirements into a comprehensive architectural framework to fulfill business objectives, meticulously documenting all architectural design and analytical efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners and managers to ensure a robust architectural foundation that can accommodate future business needs throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Assess business drivers and capabilities (both current and future) to determine corresponding enterprise solution designs and necessary changes to achieve targeted business outcomes.
  • Evaluate the existing solution portfolio to identify deficiencies arising from technology aging or misalignment with business needs.
  • Assist product managers in making informed end-of-life decisions regarding services or systems, including applications, technologies, processes, and information.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and disruptions, applying them practically to support new and evolving business and operational models.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of the technology landscape, competitors, and market trends to ascertain their potential impacts on solutions.
  • Facilitate the assessment and selection of software product standards and services, alongside designing standard and custom software configurations.
  • Consult with application and infrastructure development projects to ensure alignment with architectural standards and modify designs as necessary.
  • Lead the evaluation, design, and analysis for implementing solutions architecture across specific business applications or technologies, grounded in enterprise strategy and standards.
  • Oversee and cultivate the architecture for a broader range of projects or products, collaborating with application architects managing individual initiatives.
  • Develop a strategic roadmap for transitioning the enterprise solution portfolio from its current state to a future state as dictated by the solutions architecture.
  • Act as a consultant across a diverse array of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive desired business outcomes.
  • Create architectural designs that guide and contextualize solution development across various products, services, projects, and systems.
  • Work in tandem with the project management office (PMO) to ensure that execution aligns with project promises.
  • Provide consulting support to application architects to guarantee alignment with the overarching enterprise architecture.
  • Deliver essential documentation such as standard definitions, reference models, and architectural designs to support governance and assess the impact of technology investments.
  • Design and oversee governance activities to ensure compliance and assurance of solutions architecture.
  • Establish principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure alignment with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to navigate organizational dynamics effectively.
  • Expertise in influencing and guiding stakeholders and peers in decision-making processes.
  • Capability to translate future-state business capabilities into architectural requirements.
  • Proficiency in estimating the financial implications of architectural alternatives.
  • Creative and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Quick comprehension of new technologies and their functionalities.
  • Respected thought leader capable of influencing business and IT leaders.
  • Technology-neutral approach, prioritizing results over personal preferences.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate solution architects across the enterprise.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, with a focus on business and application architecture.
  • Exposure to diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
  • Strong understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends and their practical applications.
  • Familiarity with product management, agile principles, and development methodologies.
  • Experience in developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps.
  • Experience presenting to senior executives and technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of technology architecture aspects such as integration, network, and security.
  • Understanding of system development life cycle methodologies.
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) and architecture frameworks like TOGAF.
  • Knowledge of modeling languages and enterprise architecture tools.
