Head of Natural Gas Trading and New Market Initiatives
3 months ago
Company Overview
Energy Atlantica is a prominent wholesale natural gas trading and marketing firm, dedicated to serving clients across Atlantic Canada and New England for two decades.
Position Overview
We are seeking an exceptional individual to spearhead our efforts in assessing, selecting, and expanding into new markets. This role will lead a business unit focused on the origination and trading of physical natural gas in emerging geographic areas, ensuring optimal risk-adjusted returns on capital. The successful candidate will also be responsible for recruiting and managing any necessary support staff for this expansion, including scheduling and trading personnel. While we are particularly interested in pipelines that complement our existing operations, such as TGP, AGT, IGT, Dawn, Teco, and TCPL, we remain open to exploring other markets that offer consistent and favorable returns on equity.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate embodies our core values: excellence, authenticity, resilience, generosity, balance, and enjoyment.
You are a motivating leader who passionately advocates for your team, inspiring them to reciprocate that dedication.
Your background includes a portfolio of profitable strategies and the essential relationships to implement them effectively.
Driven by a passion for growth, you often find yourself eagerly anticipating the opportunity to advance your business unit.
Challenges are viewed as opportunities for competitive advantage, as you recognize that others may not approach them with the same intelligence or determination.
Your ambition fuels your desire to share in the wealth and opportunities that you create.
We prioritize cultural alignment, emotional intelligence, work ethic, and the ability to identify and close deals over traditional metrics such as age, education, or experience.
Compensation Structure
We offer a competitive salary complemented by an industry-leading incentive plan. This incentive structure is transparent, formulaic, and paid quarterly, allowing you to receive a direct percentage of your business unit's profits. As your unit grows, the proportion paid to you increases, with no caps on earnings. Our executive team is committed to supporting your efforts to maximize your compensation.
Company Culture
At Energy Atlantica, we strive to be distinctive. From our innovative office environment to our unique holiday celebrations and rewards for acts of kindness, we cultivate a workplace where individuals thrive and genuinely enjoy coming to work.
Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our recent employee satisfaction survey, where we achieved remarkable scores, including:
- Team unity in achieving performance goals: 96
- Confidence in our team: 96
- High skill level of our team: 94
- Exceptional team performance: 98
- Commitment to team success: 100
- Enjoyment of being part of the team: 98
We are dedicated to making a positive impact. Our employees established GIVETOLIVE, a charitable initiative that has raised over $4 million for various causes through creative athletic events. Additionally, we are committed to providing education for 400 underprivileged children in sub-Saharan Africa each year.
We prioritize a fun and fulfilling work environment, ensuring that every team member feels valued. Our remarkable retention rate of 100% over two decades speaks to our success in this area.
If you believe you are the right fit for this role, we encourage you to submit your resume and cover letter detailing your qualifications.
