Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Compressor Engineer with a strong mechanical engineering foundation to join our Reliability Unit (RU) within the Riyadh Refinery Department. The RU serves as a centralized engineering team committed to addressing the technical requirements of our refinery operations. This unit plays a vital role in compressor oversight, technical support, troubleshooting, and the coordination of Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) initiatives.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering technical assistance to our refinery operational facilities, projects, and technology implementations. You will also be instrumental in mentoring junior Compressor Engineers, conducting specialized studies, and focusing on the analysis of rotating equipment assets. Your responsibilities will include managing reliability programs and leading the development of monitoring strategies aimed at improving equipment availability and reliability throughout the refinery.

This position demands a robust mechanical engineering background, particularly in compressor systems, alongside the capability to drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance operational efficiency and reliability within the refinery setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical guidance, support, and training to plant departments.
  • Evaluate plant operations, maintenance, and engineering concerning rotating equipment and compressor systems, suggesting improvements and optimization strategies.
  • Develop and oversee lifecycle management activities for rotating equipment and compressor systems.
  • Coordinate Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) for rotating equipment and compressor systems.
  • Ensure that manufacturing knowledge is documented and that continuous improvement is achieved through benchmarking and enhancing practices across facilities.
  • Lead and support rotating equipment and compressor systems across operational facilities.
  • Offer engineering expertise and consulting services on plant rotating equipment and compressor systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive failure analyses and provide recommendations, participating in investigations of major equipment failures.
  • Collect and analyze critical operational data from DCS, PI systems, and operator checklists, recommending corrective measures.
  • Prepare detailed technical scopes for significant equipment overhauls.
  • Maintain and execute procedures for installation, configuration, and upgrades.
  • Lead or assist during plant outages, shutdowns, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Perform system testing and health monitoring, utilizing system logs for diagnostics.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance productivity and support startup and maintenance operations.
  • Review Engineering Design Change (EDC) proposals, new projects, and upgrade packages, providing constructive feedback.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive asset fault analysis database, ensuring data integrity and completeness, and updating all modifications.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to relocate.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in rotating equipment within the refinery or petrochemical sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of best engineering practices, along with a solid understanding of industry codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as System1, CCC, or Vibration CSI.
