We are seeking a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to join our Product Development team in Vancouver. Reporting directly to the Team Lead of Electrical Engineering, this role involves the design and development of electrical and electronic systems and components. The ideal candidate will be a meticulous self-starter with a passion for crafting innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and validation of electrical assemblies and electronic circuits.
  • Oversee component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout for both digital and analog circuits, including power supplies.
  • Architect electrical assemblies and board-level designs, integrating OEM modules into our products.
  • Serve as the primary electrical resource within cross-functional teams.
  • Develop standard documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prototype initial designs and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to address technical challenges.
  • Actively engage in design reviews.
  • Support root cause analysis of failures and design for manufacturability (DFM) activities.
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules and quality standards for all deliverables.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and engineering interns.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer, ideally in Product Development.
  • Proficient with testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, and signal generators.
  • Demonstrated debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools for circuit design (Altium or Orcad) and 3D assembly design (Eplan or AutoCAD).
  • Experience with embedded electronics and programming is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Committed to health and safety practices.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
