Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Cardiac Ambulatory Clinic, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the delivery of high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor nursing and clerical staff to ensure optimal clinical performance and patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Cardiac Ambulatory Clinic, including coordinating patient assignments, developing rotations, and monitoring unit activities.
  • Act as a clinical resource to nursing staff, students, and other team members, providing guidance and support to ensure best practices and high-quality patient care.
  • Monitor patient acuity and flow, making adjustments to staffing levels as needed to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring process for nursing staff, ensuring a skilled and dedicated team.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs and in-service sessions to support staff development and patient care excellence.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and three years of recent, tertiary experience in pediatric cardiology, including one year in a supervisory/leadership capacity.
  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) and current CPR certification.
  • Strong leadership skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of success in a unionized environment.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
