Providence Health Care is seeking a permanent, part-time Clinical Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team at the Heart Center. This role is pivotal in expanding the mental health services for patients with congenital heart disease, allowing you to be part of a renowned facility recognized for its excellence in cardiac care and education.
In collaboration with a skilled team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, you will be responsible for the development, management, and delivery of psychological services to patients aged 18 and older. This includes supporting newly diagnosed individuals and those transitioning from pediatric care.
This position is part of a unionized environment and offers a comprehensive benefits package along with a pension plan for eligible employees.
Position Responsibilities
Reporting to the Program Director of the Heart Centre and under the guidance of the Professional Practice Leader in Psychology, you will oversee psychological services within the Heart Centre Ambulatory Programs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering individual and group therapy sessions to clients and their families.
- Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and contributing to treatment planning.
- Conducting psychological assessments and formulating treatment recommendations based on evidence-based practices.
- Engaging in research initiatives related to the psychological aspects of heart disease.
- Providing clinical supervision and training to psychology students and interns.

Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution, along with relevant experience in a medical setting. Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia is required within one year of employment.
