About the Role

Ontario Health is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing large-scale projects and initiatives that align with our organization's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all project stages, including scope, timeline, and costs, to achieve project objectives and establish positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Assess projects in trouble, identify issues/barriers to success, and restructure the project to enable achievement of business goals.
  • Engage stakeholders to create awareness and/or collaboration that may benefit either party.
  • Develop delivery frameworks based on business goals, including identifying key stakeholders, engagement strategy, and communication plan.
  • Manage multiple interrelated projects, considering timelines, dependencies, risks, and available resourcing.
  • Support team and team members to achieve success.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to project team members throughout the engagement.
  • Motivate the team and create a collaborative micro-culture for the project.
  • Make decisions considering long-term impacts and Agency strategic goals.
  • Suggest strategies/means of improving performance of the projects to the sponsor for consideration/approval.
  • Focus on improving healthcare delivery in the province through positivity and being engaged.
  • Maintain professional certification and participate in continuous learning in the relevant professional area(s).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, healthcare, business, or a related discipline or related experience.
  • 8+ years of program and project management experience delivering large-scale technology initiatives and complex IT solutions.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, or actively working towards the designation is preferred.
  • Direct experience coordinating and managing project activities, monitoring and reporting on progress, and anticipating and resolving issues.
  • Experience managing delivery teams of various sizes that include internal and external resources.
  • Experience managing other Project Management resources assigned to the same projects.
  • Experience working with technology vendors.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing various Project Management and Software development methodologies.
  • Project management experience in the healthcare sector is an asset.
  • IT Infrastructure and ITIL experience is an asset.
  • Experience in procurement process and vendor management.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex IT projects under challenging circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical knowledge/expertise gained through work experience as a developer, business analyst, or an architect is an asset.
  • Understanding of Ontario Health business goals and mandate.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communications skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Superior leadership skills to manage both team members and senior management.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts at all levels with tact.
  • Ability to make timely decisions based on appropriate degree of assessment and sound reasoning.
  • Ability to lead/control meetings and keep discussion on track.
  • Ability to guide the project team through issue resolution.
  • Ability to build strong team spirit based on trust and focus on common goals.
  • Ability to see the business value of the work being done.
  • Ability to appreciate and consider long-term implications and goals at the enterprise level.
  • Capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions.
  • Ability to keep calm and rationale despite high pressure.
