Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Science North. As a key member of our Organizational Development team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting various functions, operating as a key resource for staff and management, and ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and Selection: Administer job postings, respond to candidate inquiries, attend recruitment events, and provide interview support.
  • Grant Programs: Assist in writing, submitting, reporting, and administering employment grant applications and reporting.
  • HRIS and Payroll Functions: Generate reports, provide key information for compensation reviews, administer employee changes, and provide HRIS data maintenance and employee support.
  • Benefits and Pension Administration: Operate as a key resource and support for staff, lead day-to-day administration (in conjunction with the finance team) including enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Recognition Programs and Events: Plan, organize, and execute recognition and other innovative employee engagement programs.
  • Systems Work: Leverage and master software such as HRIS, Applicant Tracking, Learning Management, Recognition, and Benefits.
  • Employee Relations: Respond to employee inquiries and provide assistance on HR-related matters.
  • Adaptability and Communication: Thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, maintain positive relationships, and adhere to established guidelines and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Outgoing attitude, ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment, skilled communication abilities, exceptional interpersonal skills, superior organizational skills, and adaptability to changing situations and priorities.
