About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Asset Manager to join our commercial Asset Management team at Emera Energy. As an Asset Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management and performance of our electric generation assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute dispatch strategies to optimize asset performance
  • Make informed fuel purchasing decisions to minimize costs
  • Facilitate hedging opportunities to manage risk
  • Ensure compliance with market rules and regulatory obligations
  • Liaise with asset stakeholders, traders, and system operators to ensure successful operation
  • Assess market fundamentals and indicators to support strategic recommendations
  • Represent the asset's interests through stakeholder engagements and communications
  • Prepare market-based reports, reconciliations, and analysis
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a Business-related field
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in the energy markets
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail for problem-solving and independent decision-making
  • Entrepreneurial thinker with dynamic and adaptable skills
  • Superior computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to develop code in various languages (VBA,.NET, JavaScript, etc.)
