Why Choose IMP Aerospace & Defence:
At IMP Aerospace & Defence, we pride ourselves on being a leading organization in the Aerospace sector, recognized for our commitment to engagement and equality in the workplace. Every employee is integral to our collective success, and we foster a culture where roles are not the sole definition of your contribution.

Position Overview:

The Aircraft Asset Management Specialist (AMS) reports directly to the Lead Asset Manager and is tasked with overseeing asset management activities for the CP140 aircraft Electrical Systems and associated components. The AMS plays a crucial role in providing technical insights, analyzing performance metrics, and establishing maintenance protocols aimed at enhancing life-cycle costs and minimizing aircraft downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address inquiries from CP140 operating bases, including Field Service Representatives (FSR) and Engineering Project Office (EPO) personnel.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of CP140 Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTOs).
  • Prepare, submit, and track the completion of change documents as per Department of National Defense (DND) AF9000 quality standards related to equipment modifications or technical alterations.
  • Draft and review modification proposals, special inspections, work packages, information leaflets, and Statements of Work as needed.
  • Ensure that recommendations affecting airworthiness and flight safety are communicated effectively with DND and the IMP Senior Design Engineer.
  • Monitor High Priority Requests (HPR) within the Canadian Forces Supply System (CFSS) alongside the IMP OWSS Supply Management Team, taking necessary actions to mitigate recurrence.
  • Analyze and coordinate the optimization of component Life Cycle Costing (LCC) based on customer requirements and reports from Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) Engineering and IMP OWSS Supply Chain Management (SCM) teams.
  • Implement LSA and Engineering report recommendations to address obsolescence, maintainability, or reliability challenges related to CP140 components.
  • Collaborate with other aircraft fleet Life Cycle Material Managers (LCMMs), Supply Managers, and Equipment Managers to fulfill CP140 requirements.
  • Maintain aircraft system databases as necessary.
  • Prepare and/or assist in creating briefings and reports for DND at NDHQ and IMP Management.
  • Participate in the CP140/P-3 International Operators Support Conference (IOSC) as required.
  • Engage in training and personnel development initiatives.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in electrical engineering or significant aircraft maintenance experience, ideally in a leadership capacity, demonstrating expertise in aircraft fleet maintenance management, project management, business management, and/or logistics management.
  • 5-10 years of aerospace technical experience with exposure to broad aircraft systems, preferably with the P-3/CP-140.
  • Formal training on the CP140 Primary Air Vehicle (PAV) and related systems is advantageous; however, relevant experience with other aircraft fleets will be considered.
  • Preferred experience includes three (3) or more years in DND aircraft engineering administration or project management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of military or civilian aircraft maintenance and a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical theories related to operational maintenance requirements for air conditioning, pressurization, auxiliary power units, and surface ice control systems.
  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) certification or DND experience as an Aircraft Release Authority (ARA) is a plus.
  • Training in Logistics Support, Reliability Centered Maintenance, and/or management of physical assets is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient technical writing skills and the ability to interpret aircraft technical orders and schematics.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools is required.
  • Familiarity with the CF Supply System, SAP, DRIMIS, or JDE is desirable.
  • A commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies is expected.
  • Participation in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 6S initiatives relevant to this role is encouraged.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.

What We Offer:

  • All benefits at IMP become effective on your first day of employment, regardless of your position.
  • We provide a comprehensive Benefits Package, including RSP Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, Long Service Awards, Volunteer Grant Program, Scholarship Program, and more.

IMP is dedicated to Employment Equity and aims to cultivate a diverse workforce that reflects representation at all job levels. We encourage applicants from Aboriginal People, Visible Minority Groups, Persons with Disabilities, and Women in under-represented occupations to self-identify in their cover letter or resume.
