Collaborating closely with hiring managers, HR, and various stakeholders, you will fill both unionized and non-unionized roles across diverse business sectors. If you are a proactive problem solver who embraces innovative thinking, this role is designed for you – you will tackle complex sourcing challenges and contribute to a variety of HR initiatives.

This position is open to both internal and external candidates and is eligible for our hybrid work program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize a comprehensive array of recruitment tools to identify top-tier candidates (e.g., job boards, social media, networking, and industry events).
  • Conduct interviews, evaluate candidate qualifications, and provide recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Oversee the complete recruitment process, from job posting to extending offers to new team members.
  • Develop and maintain a robust and diverse talent pipeline for future hiring needs.
  • Maintain communication and relationships with union representatives regarding recruitment and hiring processes.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, legal standards, and collective bargaining agreements for unionized roles.
  • Utilize the applicant tracking system (ATS) to manage candidate pipelines and maintain accurate recruitment records.
  • Coordinate and participate in job fairs, campus recruitment events, and outreach initiatives to attract talent.
  • Provide regular updates to hiring managers and stakeholders on recruitment progress and challenges.
  • Mentor and guide hiring managers on recruitment processes and best practices.
  • Assist hiring managers in sourcing and placing the best talent, whether through internal or external channels, and support the onboarding of new team members.
  • Deliver exceptional candidate experiences throughout the recruitment journey.

Qualifications for Success

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years of recruitment experience, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Experience in recruiting for both unionized and non-unionized positions.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and recruitment best practices, including behavioral-based interviews and candidate assessment methodologies.
  • Experience in conducting market research and developing recruitment strategies for challenging roles.
  • Certification in HR or Recruitment (such as CPHR) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems for recruitment and reporting purposes.
  • Proven ability to think creatively and leverage social media and other non-traditional methods to engage with candidates.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
