Job Title: Director, Commercial Sales

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Commercial Sales to join our team at Westland Insurance Group Ltd. in Surrey, BC. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Commercial Account Executives in several BC offices, providing leadership and oversight in connection with sales processes across the region.

About the Role:
  • Lead a team of Commercial Account Executives in several BC offices, providing leadership and oversight in connection with sales processes across the region.
  • Represent Westland Insurance Group Ltd. to the BC insurance markets and implement and support Westland's key initiatives and goals.
  • Collaborate with the Leader of the Commercial Servicing Team to support client retention and deliver necessary account services.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to ensure high-quality submissions to markets.
  • Work closely with our industry partners to deliver the best insurance solutions for our clients.
  • Engage with clients, prospects, and insurance partners to support Account Executives in delivering exceptional service.
  • Set individual goals, provide consistent performance coaching, and feedback, and identify and develop internal talent for future commercial segment roles.
  • Leverage software and applications to manage and convert leads.
  • Travel as necessary.
About You:
  • Sincere and personable, with strong verbal communication skills to explain complex information in a clear and simple manner.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity, complemented by strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of leading teams to successfully execute organizational objectives, sales, and service goals.
  • Passion for mentoring and developing emerging business leaders.
  • Ability to build authentic relationships and cultivate strong connections with insurance markets.
  • Master time manager, able to multi-task and demonstrate confidentiality and discretion.
  • Minimum 5 years in Commercial Insurance Account Management and Sales experience, plus minimum 3-5 years leadership experience.
  • Level 3 General Insurance License.
  • Bonus: One of the CAIB, CIP, FCIP, and CRM designations.
