Job Title: Director, Commercial Sales

We're seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Commercial Sales team at Westland Insurance Ltd. As a Director, Commercial Sales, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing and executing strategic plans, and building strong relationships with clients and partners.

About the Role:
  • Lead a team of Commercial Account Executives in several BC offices, providing guidance and oversight in connection with sales processes across the region.
  • Represent Westland Insurance Ltd. to the BC insurance markets and implement and support Westland's key initiatives and goals.
  • Collaborate with the Leader of the Commercial Servicing Team to support client retention and deliver necessary account services.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to ensure high-quality submissions to markets.
  • Work closely with industry partners to deliver the best insurance solutions for our clients.
  • Engage with clients, prospects, and insurance partners to support Account Executives in delivering exceptional service.
  • Set individual goals, provide consistent performance coaching, and feedback, and identify and develop internal talent for future commercial segment roles.
  • Leverage software and applications to manage and convert leads.
About You:
  • Sincere and personable, with strong verbal communication skills to explain complex information in a clear and simple manner.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity, complemented by strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of cultivating strong connections with insurance markets and building authentic relationships.
  • Master time manager, able to multi-task with the best of them, and demonstrate confidentiality and discretion.
  • Minimum 5 years in Commercial Insurance Account Management and Sales experience, plus minimum 3-5 years leadership experience.
  • Level 3 General Insurance License.
  • Bonus: One of the CAIB, CIP, FCIP, and CRM designations.
