The role of a Health and Safety Consultant is crucial in ensuring that organizations maintain safe and healthy working environments for their employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing advice and support to clients on health and safety practices, including assessing risks, understanding regulatory requirements, and suggesting measures to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Engaging with clients, both virtually and onsite, to understand their specific needs and challenges, including conducting audits, evaluating operations, and providing tailored advice to improve safety standards.
  • Developing comprehensive health and safety management systems for clients, including drafting relevant policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborating with other consultants on larger projects aimed at enhancing health and safety practices or developing new solutions.
  • Staying updated on relevant Occupational Health and Safety legislation to ensure clients remain compliant with legal requirements.
Requirements
  • A degree or diploma in a relevant field, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety.
  • Having or pursuing OHS designations demonstrates a commitment to professional development in the field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effectively engaging with clients, understanding their needs, and conveying complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing client demands, with flexibility in working hours and readiness to accommodate client schedules.
  • Proficiency in various software tools and platforms, such as Salesforce, for managing client interactions, documenting recommendations, and tracking progress.
