ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Project Manager, you will report directly to the Director of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and will have the authority to lead business-driven transformation initiatives across all Gowling WLG locations. You will be responsible for educating project stakeholders on the EPMO methodology and the roles and responsibilities associated with their project team assignments.

The EPMO is a high-performing team that fosters collaboration across various functional areas to achieve the Firm's business objectives through effective project delivery.

This position is offered as a one (1) year contract and can be fulfilled from any of our Canadian offices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of assigned projects, from initiation and planning through execution, transition, and closure, utilizing the processes, methodologies, and tools established by the EPMO.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables that align with business needs in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including objectives, expected benefits, scope, approach, risks, assumptions, dependencies, budget, team structure, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manage established approval processes throughout the project lifecycle and monitor project milestones and deliverables.
  • Generate regular status reports and provide updates on GANTT charts, escalations, risk management, and financial tracking within the EPMO's project portfolio management tool (PPM).
  • Facilitate project lessons learned sessions and compile a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the EPMO methodology by integrating new tools, techniques, and ideas.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8-10 years of experience as a Project Manager, preferably in a professional services setting.
  • Certification in project management from an accredited institution (PMP or Prince 2 certification preferred).
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, time management, and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, business units, and geographical locations.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project or any PPM tool.

The starting salary range for this role is $105,000 to $125,000, determined based on the applicant's individual skills, competencies, and qualifications. Employees have the potential to exceed this range based on tenure and performance.
