Position Title: Addictions Worker/Keyworker - Addictions Treatment Services Program

Shift / Hours:
Shift work, including days/evenings and weekends.

The Behavioural Health Foundation (BHF) operates as a Therapeutic Community dedicated to providing long-term residential treatment for adults and family units facing challenges related to substance use and concurrent mental health issues.

Key components of our program include adult education, employment development, and life skills training, all aimed at assisting residents in making healthier lifestyle choices.

Our facility uniquely accommodates adults with their children or facilitates reunification with children not currently in their care during their treatment journey.

With dedicated childcare services and K-6 educational programs available on-site, we offer healing opportunities for the entire family. The Indigenous Services at BHF provide Traditional Teachings and Ceremonies to both residents and community members. Our Outreach team is committed to supporting individuals as they strive to maintain healthy choices while reintegrating into their communities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES

A minimum of Grade 12 education, along with a diploma or degree in community support work, addictions, or relevant post-secondary education such as counselling or social work.

Experience in a residential treatment environment is preferred.
Proven experience working with at-risk and/or vulnerable populations.
Strong organizational and planning skills, coupled with effective decision-making abilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering individual and group counseling, making referrals to clinical therapists, and educating residents about addiction through a therapeutic community framework.

A satisfactory Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector verification and child abuse registry check (not older than three months) is required.
A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with a satisfactory driving record are essential.
Mental Health First Aid Certification is an asset.
Valid First Aid / CPR Certification is also considered beneficial.
