POSITION TITLE: Substance Use Support Specialist

At Behavioural Health Foundation, we are committed to providing assistance to individuals facing challenges related to substance use and concurrent mental health conditions. We are in search of a dedicated Substance Use Support Specialist to become a vital part of our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
  • Deliver personalized support to individuals confronting substance use and mental health challenges
  • Operate under the guidance of the Program Director
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage assigned client care and maintain comprehensive records
  • Offer counseling services and facilitate referrals to licensed therapists
  • Organize educational sessions focused on mental health and substance use
  • Engage in crisis intervention and enhance awareness of trauma effects
  • Contribute to team meetings and case evaluations
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Completion of Grade 12 education
  • Possession of a Diploma or Degree in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in a residential treatment environment is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Indigenous cultures is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and counseling capabilities
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Ability to function autonomously as well as collaboratively
  • Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
