Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Substance Use & Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide individualized support to clients, guiding them through their recovery journey and empowering them to achieve lasting well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalized care plans and monitor client progress, ensuring their needs are met throughout their treatment program.
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address addiction and mental health concerns.
  • Collaborate with clinical therapists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support.
  • Educate clients on addiction recovery principles, healthy coping mechanisms, and relapse prevention strategies.
  • Coordinate and lead educational workshops on mental health and substance use topics, promoting awareness and understanding within the community.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation, adhering to all confidentiality guidelines and ethical standards.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in community support work, addictions counseling, social work, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in a residential treatment setting for individuals with substance use and mental health disorders is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous history, culture, practices, customs, and beliefs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and person-centered care.
