Position Summary:
The Regional Service Manager plays a pivotal role in the efficient oversight of a skilled trades operation. Key responsibilities encompass driving team engagement to meet all operational requirements, collaborating on process enhancement and execution, fulfilling service level agreements, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory, safety, and operational standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of Technicians within the designated region.
- Oversees personnel-related functions, including employee engagement, professional development, performance evaluation, recruitment, and retention strategies.
- Guarantees compliance with health and safety regulations in service delivery through initiatives such as regular safety briefings, training sessions, provision of protective gear, and incident monitoring.
- Ensures all work aligns with internal and external compliance requirements.
Service and Operations Management:
- Administers operational budgets with an emphasis on cost management and weekly expenditure tracking.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to assess, develop, refine, and implement operational processes and standard procedures.
- Proposes and integrates technologies aimed at enhancing efficiency and productivity.
- Monitors and motivates team performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements and performance indicators.
- Assigns Technicians to projects and work orders, ensuring timely completion that meets all specified criteria.
- Investigates and resolves operational challenges.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum educational requirement: Community college diploma or equivalent training (e.g., RPA, CET).
Relevant experience: A minimum of five to ten years in a related field.
Knowledge and Skills:
- 8 to 10 years of experience in trades operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable regulatory standards and current industry practices.
- Technical proficiency in one or more skilled trades disciplines, such as refrigeration, electrical, or plumbing.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of skilled trades professionals to achieve all operational objectives.
- Expertise in managing skilled trades operations and personnel.
- Competence in developing and implementing processes and standard operating procedures.
- Strong influencing, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in computer applications.
Licenses and Professional Accreditations:
- Trade certification in one or more of the following areas is advantageous:
- Journeyman level Refrigeration license.
- Journeyman level Electrical license.
- Journeyman level Plumbing license.
