Second Cook

The Second Cook is a key member of the kitchen team at Legends, responsible for preparing high-quality food to order for guests. This role requires attention to detail, a passion for food preparation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook food to order, following established guidelines and recipes.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food preparation.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Assist with food production, including menu planning, inventory management, and cost control.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, management, and guests to ensure seamless service.
- Culinary Journeyman Red Seal Certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years cooking experience or 1 year as a Prep Cook in a similar environment and/or upscale hotel.
- Previous experience in all areas of the kitchen, including suite food production, buffets, banquets, catering, and menu planning.
- Ability to safely use and operate various knives, cutlery, and appliances.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing scheduling, including ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
This role requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment. The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, and stooping, as well as the ability to adjust focus and use hands to finger and handle controls.
