About the Role:
The Second Cook is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for preparing high-quality food to order for our guests. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food to order, following established guidelines and recipes.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food preparation.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Assist with daily food requisitions, inventory management, and kitchen maintenance.
Requirements:
- Culinary Journeyman Red Seal Certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years cooking experience or 1 year as a Prep Cook in a similar environment.
- Previous experience in all areas of the kitchen, including suite food production, buffets, banquets, and catering.
- Ability to safely use and operate various knives, cutlery, and appliances.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions:
This role is based on-site at the Rogers Centre, with regular working hours and occasional overtime. The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, and stooping, with specific vision requirements for close vision and focus adjustment.
