Job Summary:The Stable Boss will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our horse breeding and training facility. This includes managing the care and well-being of our horses, supervising a team of stable hands, and ensuring the smooth operation of our farm.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the daily care and maintenance of our horses, including feeding, grooming, and veterinary care.
- Supervise a team of stable hands, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Develop and implement plans to prioritize tasks and ensure the efficient operation of the farm.
- Direct farm feed inventory activities and ensure the proper storage and handling of feed and supplies.
- Direct farm grooming activities, including the maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Handle and monitor animal health, including the administration of medications and vaccinations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures.
- Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed by all staff.
- Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs.
- Train horses and develop training plans.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
- Perform general farm duties, including cleaning and maintenance of facilities.
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
