RESPONSIBILITIES

Report directly to the Manager of Underwriting and Broker Services. Evaluate and determine the approval or denial of mortgage loan applications, adhering to established quality standards and deadlines. Assess loan documentation to ensure compliance with mortgage underwriting criteria. Conduct Pre-Fund Quality Assurance Reviews and Post-Fund Audits to verify adherence to internal and regulatory standards. Exercise due diligence in processing applications and reviewing documentation, utilizing various validation tools. Identify and investigate suspicious scenarios or documentation, escalating issues as necessary. Foster positive relationships with Brokers and other partners. Provide insights to the Service team regarding high-risk transactions, including declines. Offer pricing on mortgage renewals to maintain profitability and consistency. Act as a point of escalation for Brokers and Business Development Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS

A post-secondary degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, finance, or related areas) or equivalent experience. A minimum of two to three years of experience in a financial institution, preferably in mortgage underwriting. Proficiency in various software applications, including MS Office and LMS.
