Position Overview

CIMA+ is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Linear Infrastructure division to oversee projects primarily located in the Greater Toronto Area. In this capacity, you will spearhead the design of intricate Linear Water and Wastewater initiatives while nurturing and empowering a diverse team of professionals. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our multidisciplinary teams on innovative infrastructure projects.

We operate under a hybrid work model, with expectations to be in the office 1-2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee projects and teams through all stages of planning, design, construction, and commissioning of Major Linear Water and Wastewater initiatives.
  • Prepare and/or supervise engineering assessments, environmental evaluations, reports, calculations, plans, and contract documentation for water and wastewater projects.
  • Independently generate cost estimates and construction specifications in collaboration with project personnel.
  • Engage directly with clients, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Lead and/or support the pursuit of new projects, including technical writing and proposal development.
  • Foster relationships with current and prospective clients to enhance the local water and wastewater practice.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the Linear Water/Wastewater Group.
  • Manage project resources, timelines, budgets, quality assurance, and risk assessments to fulfill client expectations independently.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, regulatory bodies, project stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Mentor intermediate and junior staff in the fundamentals of detailed design and project management skills, emphasizing training and development.
  • Work on projects in remote locations without the need for relocation and assist other offices across Canada in delivering significant Linear Water and Wastewater projects.
  • Break down projects into manageable tasks and sequences to ensure timely delivery within the defined scope, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer designation registered with PEO (or eligible for transfer).
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in Linear Water/Wastewater projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects valued at $2.5 million and above.
  • Experience with tunneling and/or rehabilitation works is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficient in utilizing virtual meeting software and leading online meetings and workshops.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for project plans and presentations.
