Job Description

Morrison Hershfield, a leading infrastructure consulting firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage transportation structural projects, including bridge inspections and design.
  • Supervise and direct a team of engineers and technicians in the field and office.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to gather pre-design information, monitor construction, and review post-construction results.
  • Develop and implement asset management strategies to ensure the integrity and safety of transportation infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with clients and other disciplines to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
  • Analyze and evaluate design solutions for transportation structures, including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents, and cost estimates.
  • Provide recommendations and costing for bridge, culvert, and retaining wall maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation.
  • Participate in business development activities to secure new projects and clients.
Requirements:
  • BASc or B.Eng. in Civil/Structural Engineering with a strong interest and experience in bridge engineering.
  • P. Eng. status and 10+ years of experience leading biennial inspection assignments and large transportation structures projects.
  • RAQS eligible within bridge engineering for biennial inspections.
  • Experience in the role of supervising engineer on OSIM inspection assignments.
  • Experience in fatigue inspections, proposal and report writing, asset management, and project management.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with bridge inspection and asset management software, SAP2000, CSiBridge, and SFRAME.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment and excel in both bridge and multi-disciplined projects.
