Your Opportunity
Crowder Construction, Inc. is looking for a Construction Engineer to join our Program and Construction Management team. You will play a vital role in delivering one of the most significant Transit/Rail infrastructure initiatives in recent history. The Construction Engineer's primary duty is to provide a range of technical, analytical, administrative, financial, and field functions to ensure the efficient management of construction contracts.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret contract documents to ensure work is executed as specified.
  • Assess contract work, materials, and methods to guarantee compliance with safety and quality standards outlined in the contract documents.
  • Review, analyze, and provide feedback on contractor submissions regarding materials, claims, delays, change orders, including impacts on schedules and payments.
  • Monitor submission timelines to prevent work delays due to late approvals.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports for ongoing construction contracts.
  • Evaluate and recommend approval for contractors' schedule submissions.
  • Review and compare monthly schedule updates to ensure alignment with approved contract schedules, reflecting actual progress and ensuring timely completion of work within contractual limits.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • A collaborative team player with the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong aptitude for business and technical writing.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in interpreting drawings and schematics.

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction management.
  • A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the relevant province is required; Engineer in Training status may be considered. Other relevant certifications will be viewed favorably.
  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure and construction projects, particularly in mass transit or transportation, is preferred.
  • JHSC certification is required if elected as a worker member of the JHSC.
