About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at Sinai Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to families in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to establish goals and objectives for the program, ensuring high-quality care for our patients.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of clinical standards, promoting excellence in practice and research.
  • Develop and implement education and professional development programs for staff and clients, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
  • Act as a resource and consultant to individuals and groups within the professional community, promoting best practices and evidence-based care.
  • Perform and participate in research activities, advancing changes in evidence-based practice and improving patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in nursing and a Nurse Practitioner Certificate or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • Current registration (Extended Class) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Eligible for cross-appointment to an academic institution.
  • Pediatric care experience with NICU staff nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven expertise in the implementation of the Nurse Practitioner role.
  • National Certification Corporation (NCC) Board Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
  • Membership in Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) and other organizations relevant to the role.
  • Demonstrated experience through roles of advanced practitioner, educator, researcher, and administration/leadership.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to sensitively communicate with patients/families in vulnerable situations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and customer services skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management, program planning, and evaluation skills.
  • Demonstrated decision-making, problem recognition/solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven commitment to collaborative practice and ability to work effectively independently and within an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to utilize information technology.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history.
