We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Flood Management Specialist. About the Role

The Flood Management Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing flood management strategies and plans
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to government and municipalities on flood risk assessment and mitigation
  • Leading the development of flood hazard and risk assessments, including consideration of equity and social vulnerability
  • Identifying and recommending opportunities to reduce flood risks, including nature-based and infrastructure solutions
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to advance flood management initiatives
  • Communicating technical information to diverse audiences, including government officials, municipal representatives, and community groups
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, the candidate will require:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as water resources management, environmental engineering, or geography
  • At least 6 years of experience in flood management, climate change adaptation, or a related field
  • Strong technical expertise in flood risk assessment, mitigation, and management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with spatial analysis software, such as ArcGIS
