Job Description

Job Title: Senior Advisor Regulatory Projects

Job Summary:

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Advisor Regulatory Projects to join our team. As a Senior Advisor Regulatory Projects, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of policies, protocols, and projects to innovate and improve the regulatory process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of policies, protocols, and projects to innovate and improve the regulatory process
  • Collaborate with applicants, intervenors, staff, and commissioners to identify areas for improvement and implement changes
  • Monitor regulatory developments in other tribunals and identify trends, emerging issues, and best practices for implementation at the OEB
  • Analyze relevant issues and provide strategic insights and recommendations to management that align with the rules, practices, and procedures that govern the OEB's regulatory process
  • Represent the organization in stakeholder forums and venues, including engagements with intervenors, regulated utilities, and government agency representatives
  • Gain acceptance of proposed changes from diverse stakeholders
  • Utilize project management tools and trackers to plan tasks and advance projects in a timely manner
  • Track project-level Risks, Issues, Actions, and Decisions, report to management, resolve problems, and provide project effectiveness

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree preferred in, but not limited to, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
  • Graduate degree or professional designation is an asset
  • 5+ years' experience working in a regulated industry and/or public utility; 8+ years preferred
  • Experience with the OEB's regulatory process and in energy regulation in Ontario is an asset
  • Previous experience in managing and leading projects of varying complexity and sensitivity
  • Previous experience with researching, analyzing, and preparing policy options, consulting on approaches, and assisting with implementation is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that cater to all levels in the organization and externally
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, prioritization, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Proven track record to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure, and balance multiple priorities at once
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite
