Job Title: Director, Human Resources

FirstOntario Credit Union Limited is seeking a seasoned Human Resources professional to lead our HR Business Unit. As a key member of our leadership team, you will provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality HR services that support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of HR professionals to provide expert advice and support to management and employees on HR-related matters.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives to drive business outcomes and improve employee engagement.
  • Provide oversight on compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and competitiveness.
  • Act as a resource to management on labour relations, collective agreement interpretation, and workplace investigations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with third-party vendors and unions to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date on legislative changes and trends to ensure compliance and provide expert advice to management.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of progressive experience in HR, with a focus on labour relations.
  • CHRL certification and membership in good standing with HRPA.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
