Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned HR professional to lead our Ontario region as the Director of Human Resources. This is a key role that requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in labour relations, talent acquisition, employee development, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Strategic Direction: Develop and implement HR policies, programs, and initiatives that align with business objectives and drive organizational success.
  • Lead the HR Team: Oversee all aspects of HR management, including labour relations, talent acquisition, development, and performance management, and lead a team of HR professionals to achieve business goals.
  • Collaborate with Business Leaders: Work closely with business unit leaders to understand their talent needs and develop strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, and partner with the VP of Human Resources to drive HR initiatives and projects at both the regional and company-wide levels.
  • Provide Expertise: Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders, guiding on HR-related matters and conflict resolution, and provide expert advice on HR best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on labour relations, talent acquisition, development, and performance management.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams and driving organizational change.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations in Ontario, excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, and ability to think strategically and translate HR strategy into actionable plans.
  • Certifications: SHRM or HRPA certification preferred.
