Position: Grocery Assistant Department Manager - Full Time

This is your opportunity to advance your career in a leadership role within our grocery department. As the Assistant Grocery Department Manager, you will work closely with the Grocery Manager to ensure smooth daily operations and contribute to a positive and productive team environment.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Motivate and mentor your team of grocery associates, fostering a culture of collaboration and support.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, providing guidance and addressing any concerns or issues raised by team members.
  • Coach and train team members to maintain the highest levels of productivity and customer service excellence.
  • Effectively handle both team member and customer inquiries and concerns, ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolutions.
  • Uphold company policies and procedures, including health & safety, food safety, and loss prevention protocols.
  • Manage inventory levels, merchandise displays, and scheduling to meet financial objectives and ensure optimal product availability.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all team members, customers, and vendors, creating a welcoming and positive shopping experience.

We seek an experienced and dedicated individual with a passion for grocery retail. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a grocery department, demonstrating a solid understanding of product knowledge and inventory management.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with team members and customers alike.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including the capacity to motivate, coach, and guide a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and the ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a sense of urgency and ownership in resolving issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, ensuring clear and concise interactions with all stakeholders.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to design visually appealing and engaging product displays.
  • A commitment to upholding our company values and setting a positive example for others.
Work Environment:

This role is based in a retail grocery store environment. Flexibility is required, as you may be scheduled to work days, evenings, and weekends.

Occasional travel may be necessary to support off-site events or initiatives.
