Job Opening: Lead Estimator for Industrial Projects

Wood is seeking a Lead Estimator to become a part of the Minerals & Metals division. This role is on a contractual basis and will be engaged as necessary. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Project Controls and will be responsible for overseeing the estimating process for significant industrial projects from initial design through to planning and execution.

Compensation: CDN $142,000 - $174,000 annually

The final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, educational background, and the specific skills and qualifications required for this position.

Required Qualifications:
  1. At least 10 years of experience in estimating and managing capital cost estimates for mining or heavy industrial projects within an EPC/EPCM environment
  2. Previous experience as a lead estimator on mining projects and field experience is preferred
  3. Proven track record in estimating costs for international projects
  4. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to present to senior management
  5. Strong organizational skills, a solid work ethic, and leadership capabilities
  6. Proven ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner
  7. Comprehensive understanding of construction processes
  8. Familiarity with AACEI estimate classifications and guidelines
  9. An engineering degree or engineering technologist diploma is considered an asset
  10. Experience in mining and estimating heavy civil works is also advantageous
  11. Authorization to work legally in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is mandatory
