Job Overview:

Arterra Wines Canada is a leading producer and marketer of award-winning wines. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences through engaging tours and tastings, with the ultimate goal of driving sales. This role requires a strong background in the hospitality industry, with a passion for wine knowledge. Ideal candidates will be energetic, personable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with wine tastings and purchases
  • Conduct engaging and informative tours of the winery, including structured tastings for tour groups
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all visitors
  • Operate a computerized point-of-sale system and perform opening and closing duties
  • Support special events and provide dinner service in both formal and informal settings
  • Represent the winery at off-site events
  • Stock and maintain wine and giftware inventory
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment

Requirements:

  • Smart Serve Certification
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to work well in a team-focused environment
  • Motivation to exceed sales targets
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Ambitious and goal-oriented
  • Retail experience is a must-have
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Previous serving experience is an asset
  • Fluency in French, Chinese, Korean, or Japanese is considered an asset
  • Wine knowledge is an asset, but not necessary as training is provided
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends
