About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned professional to fill the Unit Claims Manager, Accident Benefits position within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a senior team of adjusters handling non-catastrophic files in Ontario
  • Support the specialized handling of facility files
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of business plans to achieve key goals
  • Provide effective leadership, motivate staff, and oversee hiring and performance feedback
  • Coach team members on technical and professional skills, and facilitate continuous learning through development plans
  • Develop and implement management initiatives to support company strategies, including organizational structure changes and process/technology improvements
  • Offer consultative and advisory services on claims matters, such as liability determination, policy interpretation, and settlement negotiation
  • Liaise with other claims experts on technical and administrative issues
  • Maintain a respectful and productive relationship with vendors, service providers, legal firms, and internal client groups

Requirements:

  • Prior leadership or at least 3 years of experience in claims handling
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff
  • Experience in coaching and developing staff
  • Strong organization, analytical, and time management skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
