About the Role

CASA Mental Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Unit Supervisor to join our team at CASA House, a live-in program for teens with significant mental health and/or addictions challenges. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the unit team, ensuring seamless delivery of care and services.
  2. Participate in patient intakes, facilitate parent and youth orientations, and contribute to program eligibility assessments as required.
  3. Provide leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring that patient care decisions are made with the highest level of expertise and compassion.
  4. Develop and implement program-level education and training for the unit staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  5. Collaborate with the Program Manager to review and enhance unit quality, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of care.
  6. Support the recruitment and selection of relevant staff, ensuring that our team is equipped to provide the best possible care to our clients.
  7. Lead team meetings and contribute to a positive and respectful work environment.
Requirements
  1. Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with a minimum of five years of experience in children's mental health and/or youth addictions.
  2. Acute care children's mental health experience is considered an asset.
  3. Member in good standing with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta.

Conditions of Employment

  1. A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check.
  2. Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification.
