Job Summary

Okanagan College is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to provide invigilation services for exams to students in a private or group setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain strict adherence to policies and procedures governing examinations
  • Set up examination venues by ensuring technology is operational
  • Lay out equipment and examination materials are available
  • Assist students prior to the start of examinations
  • Check attendance and ensure students do not talk once inside the examination venue
  • Respond to queries raised by students or refer students to an instructor, as appropriate
  • Respond to examination irregularities in accordance with stated procedures
  • Ensure students do not remove equipment or exam material from the examination venue without authorization
  • Ensure students leave the examination venue in an orderly and quiet manner
  • Collect and collate examinations

Requirements

  • 1 year post-secondary education preferred
  • 1-2 years related experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding and commitment to maintaining appropriate standards of confidentiality and security of materials
  • Ability to work independently to deliver exams as per required guidelines and instructions
  • Effective communication skills, specifically, ability to read aloud clearly, with good pronunciation
  • Clear and accurate handwriting; technical competency to troubleshoot basic computer issues is preferred
